Kathmandu Medical College and Teaching Hospital, or KMCTH, is a medical school located in Nepal’s capital city of Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Medical College is one of the private medical colleges located in Nepal and the college was established in 1997. In addition to having full membership in the Medical Councils of Nepal, Sri Lanka, the United Kingdom, and India, KMC maintains its longstanding affiliation with Kathmandu University. Besides, the KMCT has been included in the WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools in electronic form from June 2002.
After getting the full membership status in NMC, the Kathmandu Medical College is also an IMED member. With its headquarters located in Glen, Belgium, the Network towards Unity for Health (TUFH) counts Kathmandu Medical College as one of its Associate Members.
Kathmandu Medical College operates from two campuses: Duwakot Basic Sciences Campus and Sinamangal Clinical Sciences Campus. Kathmandu Medical College is very approachable because it is situated within the ring road adjoining the Teaching hospital and near the airport.
The principal of Kathmandu Medical Institution is Prof. Dr. Chanda Karki, a distinguished obstetrician and gynecologist in the nation, the former head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the institution, and the former president of the Nepal Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. The basic scientific building at Kathmandu Medical College is located in Duwakot, Bhaktapur, whereas the clinical sciences are taught in Sinamangal. The main hospital of Kathmandu Medical College is located at Sinamangal, adjacent to Tribhuvan International Airport. A newly constructed community hospital has been constructed beside the basic science campus in Duwakot as well as Kathmandu Medical College. On the first and second floors of the 11-story Duwakot building at Kathmandu Medical College, emergency and general outpatient department services have started.

Kathmandu medical college admission
To be admitted to Kathmandu Medical College, a candidate must be at least 17 years old, have completed 10+2 years of education or Intermediate of Science or its equivalent, and have passed all of the required prerequisite subjects, including English, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Additionally, a candidate must have received at least 50% of the possible points in each of the aforementioned subjects combined, as well as an overall score of 50%, if they wish to be admitted to Kathmandu Medical College.
A candidate must successfully finish the B.Sc. degree as recognized by the university with one of the five subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and at least an additional sciences subject to get admitted to the Kathmandu Medical College of Study until the ancillary level preceding their studies and the candidate must have scored not less than an aggregate of 50% marks to get admitted at the Kathmandu medical college; Provided that such candidate Kathmandu medical college should have the candidate qualified under NEET-UG. The students have to be in English medium or at least they used English as a medium for getting admission to Kathmandu Medical College. Passport: Holders of a valid Indian passport and the admission and Visa: No visa required and Eligible MCI certificate.
