The Haldia Institute of Dental Sciences and Research (HIDSAR) has endeavored to emerge as a centre of excellence in dental education since starting its BDS course in 2007 – 08 with West Bengal University of Health Sciences. Affiliated to the Dental Council of India and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India, HIDSAR has carved a niche for itself as a quality dental institution.
As a college committed to postgraduate education the college addition of MDS programs in six specialties in the 2015-16 academic year and addition of another in the 2017-18 academic year.
Admission Process
Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
Appear for NEET UG:
- Eligibility: To clinch BDS, aspirants must write the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Unified (NEET) UG being administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
- Subjects: The examination includes questions in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology).
- Application: Candidates need to fill out the NEET UG application form online and pay the requisite fee.
Participate in West Bengal NEET UG Counseling:
- Counseling Authority: The counseling of the BDS seats in West Bengal is done through the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.
- Registration: Any candidate seeking admission must first be admitted online for the West Bengal NEET UG Counseling after the NEET UG results come out.
- Choice Filling: While counseling the candidate has to enter his/her choice of college and course as per NEET UG ranks.
- Seat Allocation: The fillings of the seats depend on the rank of the candidate, the choices made, and the number of seats available at the participating dental colleges.
- Reporting: After the seat is filled up, the candidates will have to join the college allotted within the given time and then get their documents verified and complete the admission process.
Master of Dental Surgery (MDS)
Appear for NEET MDS:
- Eligibility: Candidates must take the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS), which is also administered by NTA, to pursue MDS.
- Subjects: A variety of dental science-related topics are covered in the exam.
- Application: Applicants must fill out the registration form and apply for the NEET MDS exam on the official NTA website.
Participate in West Bengal NEET MDS Counseling:
- Counseling Authority: The counseling process of MDS seats of West Bengal is organized by the Department of Health & Family Welfare of the Government of West Bengal.
- Registration: After the results of NEET MDS have been released, candidates will have to fill out the West Bengal NEET MDS Counseling registration form online.
- Choice Filling: During counseling, the candidates are expected to enter their choice colleges and their preferences in specialization.
- Seat Allocation: Allotment of the seats depends on the score obtained in NEET MDS the choices given by the candidate and several open seats in the particular college.
- Reporting: Once the candidate gets the seat they are allowed they are required to go to the particular college to get all the required documents verified.
