Lord Buddha Educational Academy Ltd. (LBEA) was founded to advance the country by offering top-notch medical education. Soon after, several well-known businesspeople, physicians, educators, and members of the community came together to fulfill their social responsibility; as a consequence, “Nepalgunj Medical College” was founded in 1996. The college began offering postgraduate MD/MS programs in 2007, nursing in 2000, and MBBS in 1997.
Nepalgunj Medical College also substantiates the recommendation of the Nepal Medical Council, Medical Council of India Srilanka, and Medical Councils of SAARC & other Countries. The institute is listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools WHO. Consequently, the graduate of the institute can sit for USMLE and PLAB examinations in the USA and the UK respectively. They fully follow the curriculum of Kathmandu University as their framework. The colleges have their own two well-equipped teaching hospitals in two main cities of Nepal Banke district, 750 bedded Teaching hospitals at Kohalpur and 250 bedded hospitals at Nepalgunj.

The campus is located in EastChisapani, Banke, which is a quiet neighborhood. Not far away is the renowned Bardia Wild Life Sanctuary, which is well-known for its wild elephants and Royal Bengal Tigers. The year-round vegetation makes the environment special, one-of-a-kind, serene, pollution-free, and perfect for effective teaching and learning. The campus has a dense plantation on about 70 hectares of land. All of the faculty and non-teaching personnel live on the college campus. There are separate dorms and mess facilities for the boys and girls. The premises are continuously secured by the security personnel, the majority of whom were formerly in the military.
To stay up with the latest technological advancements in education, the academic facilities include a library, a leisure hall, a multimedia lab with internet access, a dissection hall, a museum with numerous exhibits, and many more areas.
Aside from this, we have a lot of Medical learning equipment, CDs/DVDs which are strictly for teaching-learning only. Medical informatics classes are made for the students. There is internet connectivity through optical fiber for the campus to enable the students to be well-connected to information. To make the students feel near home, there is a PCO booth in the hostels having E-mail and an STD/ISD facility is available 24 hours. Mobile network connectivity is strong there for all the network service providers in the case of Nepal.
Classrooms-complexity includes a lecture hall, seminar rooms, and laboratories fitted with advanced teaching aids- audi-video teaching aids eg. LCD projectors, Slide Projectors, Overhead Projectors, Computers, and television monitors.

Registration
Every applicant accepted into a course at Kathmandu University or one of the affiliated medical colleges must register with the university by sending the application form, properly completed, and the required fee to the university via the principal of the affiliated college or the dean of the School of Medical Science by the deadline.
Admission Process for Nepalese Citizens
A valid KUMET score is produced every year for Nepalese citizens seeking admission to Kathmandu University School of Medical Sciences and the admission will be on a merit basis after central counseling at KUSMS Dhulikhel, Kavre Nepal.
Admission Process for Foreign Citizens
Interested candidates are required to apply with a scanned copy of their mark sheet 12th along with Citizenship/Passport who want to be a part of Kathmandu University and get admission to the MBBS/BDS courses. Thus, all such candidates are to take the Central Entrance Test in writing.
Applications are only accepted from Indian students who have completed the NEET.
Academic Sessions
The four-and-a-half-year MBBS program includes a mandatory one-year internship. Every year in August, the session begins. The college complies with the rules, guidelines, and entrance requirements set forth by KU.
The KUMET test is administered annually in July or August. Both foreign and Nepalese students must pass the KUMET. Admission will be determined on a merit basis by KU’s policies. Original citizenship and certificate documents are required for admission.
Eligibility Criteria

- Minimum age 17
- obtained a 50% grade in 10+2 with majors in English, physics, chemistry, and biology.
- The aggregate percentage must be 50% or above. (For Indian Students)
- completed 10+2 years of schooling (as determined by PCB) with a cumulative grade of 50% or higher and 50% in each subject.
- Minimum age 17 years.
- NEET-UG qualified
- Valid Indian Passport
- Valid MCI certificate
Foreign students who are not Indian and have completed the NEET are also eligible to apply; they are not required to take the KUMET exam. Students will be admitted according to KU’s announced Merit List.

- X/O Level mark sheet (a board-provided copy of the mark sheet or transcript)
- XIIth / A Level mark sheet (not the online printouts, but a copy of the mark sheet or transcript provided by the board)
- The passport page displays the name and nationality. (A copy of an Indian national’s passport is required at the time of admission; voter ID or Aadhar may be used instead of a passport).
- The NEET/SAT score sheet for the current school year, if it is available
